“Dinner and a Movie on the Bay: The Sequel” continues with open-air screenings aboard Hornblower’s rooftop deck featuring Hollywood blockbusters with signature dining and cruising experience offerings
San Diego, CA (March 26, 2021) – Hornblower Cruises and Events announced today the April film selections for San Diego’s open-air cinema and dining experience. Every Friday and Sunday, the outdoor big-screen movie experience will be offered for guests aboard the Inspiration Hornblower vessel. Originally launched last fall in response to the demand for original, socially distanced events, this one-of-a-kind night out on the town includes an all-in-one package of blockbuster movies, especially curated cocktails and cuisines and fantastic views of San Diego beaches. The vast upper deck is fully open-air and offers 360-degree views of the Bay and the twinkling lights of the city with more than enough room on board for everyone to stay safely apart while enjoying the movie.

Movies will be shown on an ultra-large screen with audio provided via external speakers or by tuning into the Hornblower App through guests’ devices using their own headphones. Titles are subject to change without notice and future selections will be announced at a later date.
A special movie night menu features an array of delicious dishes such as Short Rib Pot Pie, Lobster Roll and Chicken Kabobs alongside a variety of appetizers and desserts. All can be enjoyed with your favorite tipple from a range of wines, beers and cocktails.
Adult prices start at $55.00, Child (ages 4-12) $35.00, Family Package for 4 is $149.00 (2 Adults + 2 Children) and includes popcorn and an entrée of your choice. For the ultimate date night, a special package offers a bottle of French Clicquot Champagne with dinner and premium seating from $169.00. The health and safety of guests and crew remains Hornblower’s top priority. While guests can expect the same high standards and welcoming service, experiences have been adapted to ensure heightened cleanliness and the ability to maintain social distance onboard. To provide reassurance in the current pandemic environment, Hornblower has expanded its industry defining SafeCruise by Hornblower program, building on already stringent sanitation processes, to incorporate further health-driven measures to guard against the spread of COVID19 and other viruses. These include, but are not limited to:
- Mandatory daily crew member health screening, and wearing of appropriate PPE.
- Revised boarding and ticketing procedures to allow for social distancing and touchless entry.
- Requiring guests to wear face masks while cruising, except while eating and drinking.
- Reducing the number of guests on board, and adapting all seating and table spacing to allow for a minimum 6-foot distance between guests.
- Implementing enhanced sanitation and disinfection procedures, with hand sanitizing stations available throughout the vessel.
